PIL’s exclusive co-extrusion process brings together multiple layers of engineered material, each with specific performance properties:

• The robust outer layer provides heat resistance for excellent heat sealing and cold flex properties to keep the quality of container and contents viable under extreme temperatures, including 121oC steam sterilization
• A moisture barrier layer reduces the moisture transmission loss
• The chemically inert inner layer virtually eliminates any chance of leaching of chemical into fluid to maintain solution purity.

PP films are extruded in a controlled environment where the solution surface is exposed only to 'Class 100' filtered air. PIL’s special 'double-wound' process ensures that the solution containing surface is never exposed to the environment. PIL products are manufactured according to the WHO approved current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to ensure the highest standard of quality.

This remarkably thin, light and hard-working film passes the high standards of the most recognized global pharmacopoeia and assures a multi-level performance that no other delivery system can match.

Distinct Advantages

• Exceptional product protection with optimum leach resistance, absence of plasticizers, adhesives or chlorine and ultra-low particulate levels
• Material's low moisture vapor transmission rate ensures highest product quality
• Excellent Clarity of the film ensures optimum visual inspection
• Absolute flexibility eliminates chance for contamination from needle prick
• Withstands the abuses of transportation, distribution and use due to unsurpassed seal strength
• Withstands a wide range of temperature during storage and distribution owing to heat resistance and cold flex properties
• Graduation to ensure precise dosing
• Compatible with a variety of products including lipids and amino acids
• Bears the marks for proof of sterilization

These advanced delivery systems and components lead to subsequent intensive product developments for a wide range of applications, including parenteral nutrition, IV irrigation, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), antibiotics and other specialty drugs.

FFS Technology

Popular Infusions Ltd. is using 'Form-Fill-Seal' (FFS) technology so that Formulations are directly and automatically processed to a finished bag which are made, filled and sealed in one production line without any intermediate step.
The distinct advantage is the minimum risk of particle contamination and much easy validation of the process chain.
